Only a couple of days left until we stream RallyFwd™ Let’s Humanize the Candidate Experience on Tuesday, May 1, at 12 PM ET and 9 AM PT (psst.. you can still register for free, if you haven’t already!).

One of the sessions we can’t wait to watch is Shari Conaway’s mainstage talk, “Showing Heart: When Candidates Are Your Customers.” Here’s the inside scoop on Shari and what she’ll be talking about next Tuesday:

Shari Conaway, Senior Director of People, Southwest Airlines

Shari Conaway has grown her career with Southwest Airlines over the past 23 years. Starting out as a Recruiter, she’s held numerous positions along her career journey with the company. In her current role, Shari is responsible for Talent Acquisition, Health & Wellness, Compensation & Retirement, Compliance and Onboarding.

What will Shari talk about at RallyFwd?

Shari will talk about how and why Southwest Airlines has placed such an emphasis on their Candidate Experience over the years – even before it was a hot topic in the industry.

Southwest has won numerous awards for their outstanding Candidate Experience and culture. They’ve been listed as one of Glassdoor’s Best Places to Work for nine consecutive years, as well as a 2017 Glassdoor Best Place to Interview. They also made the Forbes America’s Best Employers List for 2017.

For Southwest, building an outstanding Candidate Experience has always been paramount because they need to say “no” to more than 1 million applicants every year. And many of these applicants are also valued customers, so the TA team must ensure that candidates (customers) walk away with positive perceptions about Southwest still intact!

At RallyFwd, Shari will share the best practices they’ve developed at Southwest over the years to ensure candidates feel valued. She’ll also outline some of the upcoming initiatives the company has in the works.

What you’ll learn:
  • How to communicate your culture and values to candidates throughout the hiring process
  • How to answer candidate questions up-front, before they even ask
  • How to encourage rejected candidates to apply again in the future and to continue interacting with your brand as a customer

If you’re not one of the 2,800+ HR and TA leaders and practitioners already registered to hear Shari speak next week, you can do so at rallyfwd.com.
