As we’ve spoken a lot about at Rally recently, the right intel can provide so much to recruitment marketers: better, more proactive hiring; more support and respect from leadership; the confidence that what you’re doing is working — the list goes on.
But for practitioners with limited time, a full workload and little-to-no idea of where to go for the latest, trustworthy information in their field (sound familiar?), it can be hard to always have your finger on the pulse.
That’s why we created this list. Featuring only resources from authoritative sources, you can use it to stay updated on the latest data, tactics, and strategies you need to stay educated about your field, understand what works and what doesn’t, constantly develop yourself professionally and do your best work — no matter how much time you have or what Recruitment Marketing strategies you’re focused on. Happy reading!

Appcast Recruitment Marketing Benchmark Report
The Recruitment Marketing Benchmark Report from Appcast helps you understand where, when, and how to reach the candidates you seek. With Appcast being a programmatic advertising platform, the report also goes into detail about how much you may have to spend to reach your candidates, making it ideally suited for those looking to upgrade their job advertising game.
Examples of topics covered:
- How to increase your clicks and applies by aligning your job titles and benefits with candidate expectations
- How key recruiting metrics vary by job function and geographic market
Rally Inside
Yearly reports can go a long way in helping you keep your strategy aligned with the current talent market, but Rally Inside goes a step further. At any time, you can look to see what content topics candidates are engaging with most across your Recruitment Marketing channels, as well as how your content is performing compared to your competitors. This gives you a constant, up-to-date stream of data you can use to direct your own strategy.

Other than seeing how your Recruitment Marketing content is performing compared to other teams’ content, you can also use Rally Inside to see what topics within your Recruitment Marketing content are driving the most Likes, comments, shares and general engagement.
For example, you might notice that competitors are posting more employee stories content than you, and they’re receiving a lot more engagement from candidates as a result. You then might tone down your content in other areas (i.e. individual job postings), focus more on the people at your company and track your engagement to see if it improves.
You can also use Rally Inside as a more general benchmarking tool to understand what topics candidates are interested in most — and inform what you should be posting about. For example, data from the tool has already revealed the following topics to be the most engaging (at the time of publishing):
- Jobs at the team or job function level (instead of individual jobs)
- People (e.g. employee stories and company culture)
- Company (e.g. news, awards and partnerships)
